Deputy Director, Ohio
Melanie Brewster began her career at Acelero Learning in 2011 as a Center Director in Philadelphia where she served as an educational leader for six classrooms. In 2013, Melanie moved into the position of Director of Education and was responsible for overseeing the quality of services in 23 Philadelphia classrooms, along with the disability and mental health service area. Given her time as a member of the leadership team in Philadelphia, and her experience as a preschool and first-grade teacher, Melanie became Deputy Director of the very first Shine Implement program in Toledo, Ohio, in partnership with Brightside Academy. Melanie holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education from Temple University and is pursuing a master's degree in urban studies with a concentration in community development.
